Care Guide

Welcome to the Hook & Needle baby products care guide, designed to help you keep your crochet babywear, gifts, and accessories in perfect condition for years to come.

Our pieces are thoughtfully crocheted using natural cottons and merino wool, chosen for their softness, breathability, and durability. With the right care, your Hook & Needle items can be enjoyed, treasured, and passed on.

Our products do not need to be washed before first use. When it’s time to refresh them, please follow the guidance below:

  • Clothing & Crochet Garments: To help keep their shape, we always recommend hand washing our clothing. Bonnets, rompers, and boots without decorative elements can be machine washed separately at 30°C with a mild detergent. Select a gentle wash program with a gentle spin, and use a laundry bag where possible.
  • Rattles: Spot clean or hand wash only. The crochet section may be gently washed, but wooden parts should only be briefly soaked and never left in water. Do not machine wash, as this may damage the wood and shape.
  • Baskets: To maintain their structure, hand washing is recommended. Reshape while damp and allow to air dry naturally.

Crocheted garments may occasionally catch. If you notice a loose loop, gently tuck it back into the fabric—never pull, as this can cause damage.

A Note on Handmade Pieces:

Each Hook & Needle item is handmade with care, making no two pieces exactly alike. Small variations in texture and stitch are part of what makes each piece unique and special. By following this baby products care guide, you can ensure that your items remain beautiful, soft, and safe for babies, while preserving the craftsmanship that makes each piece one of a kind.
