When I first began designing for Hook & Needle, my vision was clear: to create pieces that felt timeless—classic in essence, yet modern enough that future generations would eagerly dress their newborns in them. I wanted to revive the kind of traditional, artisan-made babywear that was treasured decades ago, while infusing each design with a fresh, contemporary spirit.
I’ve always been drawn to vintage-inspired design—the kind of knits that hold personality, memory, and a quiet sense of history. But for me, the magic lives in bringing those qualities into the present day, crafting garments that feel both nostalgic and new.
One of the aspects of designing that I cherish most is creating gender-neutral babywear. I gravitate toward colours that pair effortlessly with any outfit and add just a touch of understated specialness. My hope is that each item becomes an heirloom: worn again and again, handed to siblings or friends, and enjoyed by anyone who values craftsmanship, care, and beautiful simplicity.
Every stitch is purposeful.
Every pattern is lovingly designed.
Every colour is thoughtfully chosen.
Every fibre is carefully considered.
These garments are made to last—slowly, sustainably, and with true intention. They’re more than clothes; they’re keepsakes that carry a story.
For me, Hook & Needle is about creating pieces that feel personal, warm, and meaningful. When you choose a Hook & Needle garment, you’re not just dressing your little one—you’re embracing a tradition, celebrating craftsmanship, and carrying a little piece of love from my hands to yours.
